Hope for All of Us: Join The Movement

Psst! If you're not into reading more about The 30x30 Project right now, that's cool. Just go ahead and skip this post and wait for next week's- we'll have some more actionable health content for you then. No hard feelings. :)I'm sitting here in my room on the last night in LA with the door closed.Rick is outside, working away on some recordings. And I'm here. Trying to pack. Trying to fathom the fact that this is my life. One year ago, I had just launched Make This Your Moment.A year before that, I had just started my Four Leaf Fitness blog without any intention of ever telling my whole story. Only 5 people knew I had ever considered suicide. And here I am in this completely different, extraordinary life.Tomorrow, I leave on tour to inspire hope through movement in 30 cities because I reached out. Most people are afraid to talk about their issues for fear of judgment. They don't want to look weak because they think no one else around them is dealing with it. They just want to fit in.Here's what I've realized over the past year and a half of Strong Inside Out:

By sharing my story, I found confidence I had never known before. You know why? I finally realized that I was not alone. In fact, I realized that by raising my voice, I helped other people feel less alone.

The bond between physicality and mental health is far stronger than we acknowledge. Shortly after launching SIO, I was introduced to Dr. John J Ratey's Spark: The Revolutionary New Science of Exercise And The Brain. It details the effects that aerobic exercise has on a host of anxiety and mood disorders.

If you are willing to truly put yourself out there, and you work your ass off, you will get there. I had no idea if I would make my goal with The 30x30 Project, but I never once doubted that I would get this message out in some fashion. Even if it took me past my 30th birthday. Even if I had to go way further (and beyond) my savings than I'd planned. Even if I had to teach in the middle of nowhere.

When I say, "Hope is real," I think it's often construed as a message to the depressed.Today, I want to make it very clear that this message extends to all of you, disorders or no.Hope is real for all of us. Every time you think you're not good enough to reach higher than your friends or family; every time you want to give up on a goal because you've hit an obstacle; or those times you just don't know if you can keep doing what you're doing day in and day out, I want you to remember this.Hope is real. You are never lost or alone. We are here. All of us.I'm leaving tomorrow on a tour that will completely change my life, no doubt. But the important thing is:

Will it change yours?

I'm getting out there to meet you all in person, and I sincerely hope that you'll make it for either the bootcamp or the Movement Meetup... or both! You can join this movement. I'll teach you how. I'll sit with you and help you create an action plan so that you can live an extraordinary life helping others as well. Come to the Movement Meetup in your city and we'll have coffee over our plans to change the world. :)This is a quick post today because I'm slammed with getting everything set up for the tour, but I really hope I get the chance to give you this sense of purpose that I never thought was possible. If a purposeful life is something you seek, I'd be elated to help you realize it.
