Sometimes You Sit in A Wet Bus Seat...

I'm on this amazing adventure, and I am full of gratitude and energy. Sometimes I feel like it's not even possible to have negativity enter my state at all.I think back to all those times I felt down, and I start questioning why I couldn't just get over it then because of how strong I'm feeling now.I feel so powerful and infallible. Invincible even. Nothing bad will ever happen......and then I sit on a wet bus seat in Denver....or I get locked out of the house I'm staying at in Phoenix....or I forget to bring the postcards that tell people how to donate to the Burnaby bootcamp.S*** happens. And as high as you may feel at any point, you can't count on it to last forever.Call me Debbie Downer if you want, but I'm not saying all this to shoot you down into the darkness of depression. I'm actually saying it so you might save yourself a black hole worth of one.Because this same predicament applies to when you're feeling that alltime low.No matter how low you feel, you can't count on it to last forever. Something amazing will come along, unexpectedly brightening your day, your month, your life.In Expect (and Prepare for) The Unexpected, I talk about preparing (as much as we possibly can) for the times when the s*** hits the fan. It's bound to.In order to experience the highs in life, you have to have the lows to compare it to, right?

But what if, when you're going through those extra tough times, you use this same tactic to start exploring the possibilities of something unexpectedly phenomenal to come into your life?

So if you're focusing on your health, mental or physical, you have to expect your state to fluctuate, and be thankful for it even if it hurts at first. So when I sit in a wet bus seat, instead of having an OCD-induced panic attack, I tell other people not to sit there......which causes the woman next to me to offer to write a note on a piece of paper to warn other riders......and the woman behind the seat to help me inform the people who almost make the same mistake I did...By sitting in a wet bus seat, I was reminded of the kindness in others, and experienced first-hand the unity of strangers. Because of the unexpected nastiness, I received unexpected kindness and support because I allowed myself to be open to seeing and accepting it.Start looking for those occurences. Keep your eyes and heart open to the possibilities of kindness and love coming into your life... and they will. Here's where 30x30 is gonna be in the next week:CHICAGO TONIGHT!lululemon athletica Rush St.930 N.
